This note belongs to the Bank of Israel's third series of the new shekel, designed by Osnat Eshel, which portrays four Hebrew poets—Rachel Bluwstein, Shaul Tchernichovsky, Leah Goldberg, and Natan Alterman—on its 20-, 50-, 100-, and 200-new-shekel notes. The series entered circulation with the 50-new-shekel note on 16 September 2014.

Front:  A large portrait of the Hebrew poet and physician Shaul Tchernichovsky (1875–1943) fills the right side of the note, set against the leaves and fruit of citrus trees.

An open-book motif sits at upper left. Below it, a large numeral 50 is flanked by Hebrew inscriptions naming the Bank of Israel and the denomination in new shekels.

A small menorah also appears as a registration device.

Back:  The capital of a Corinthian column — the ornate crown of a classical column, carved with scrolls and acanthus leaves — fills the background behind a large stylized numeral 50.

At upper right are lines from Tchernichovsky's poem "I Believe" in Hebrew.

The bank's name and the denomination appear in English at lower right and in Arabic along the left edge, and a small menorah also appears on this side.

UNC uncirculated condition.

During the printing process on many modern notes, a dimple is created where the security thread is on the edge of the note (sometimes called a counting tick), when the notes are run through high speed counters. This does not disqualify the note as UNC.
