In August 2024, on the 33rd anniversary of its independence, Ukraine started updating its entire banknote family. Not a redesign—the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) kept the 2014 designs intact and added a single line to the upper-right of each note’s back: “Слава Україні! Героям Слава!” — “Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the Heroes!”
One denomination at a time, over nearly two years, the slogan worked its way across the whole series. On 16 June 2026 the 100-hryvnia note went into circulation, and the set is complete.
