This note belongs to Ulster Bank’s “Living in Nature” series of polymer banknotes, which the bank described as the UK and Ireland’s first main-issue vertical banknotes when it unveiled the first designs in May 2018. The series themes were developed with a panel of experts and members of the public from across Northern Ireland.

Front: A branch of flowering hawthorn dominates the front, with a butterfly at lower left. Eels, which make the long migration from their spawning grounds in the Sargasso Sea to Northern Ireland, swim across the top of the note above an outline of Lough Neagh shown together with the RBS Group logo. The Ulster Bank name, the promise to pay, and a bank officer’s signature appear at upper left.
Back: Street musicians playing a guitar and a fiddle perform for a clapping woman and girl on the back, a scene drawn from Derry/Londonderry’s Halloween celebrations. An archway decorated with tiles, brickwork, and ornamental patterns frames the scene, and eels swim across the top of the note.
UNC uncirculated condition.
During the printing process on many modern notes, a dimple is created where the security thread is on the edge of the note (sometimes called a counting tick), when the notes are run through high speed counters. This does not disqualify the note as UNC.Shipping
